If you want to be part of a unique experience that gives you the feeling of walking above the sea, turn your way to Saplı Bay. There is an island across the bay and you can walk to the island through the sea. The reason that the island is called lı “Sapli ” is that the road extending from land to the island consists of rocks.
Sapli Island has been taken under protection as a protected area which has a long history and interesting structure dating back to 1500 BC. The island was formed by the accumulation of ashes scattered around by the impact of a large volcano eruption in the Aegean Sea. Moreover, it is possible to see this ash layer which is dominant in the structure of the island even today.
